ABOUT GREEN LANTERN...
Green Lantern is the name used by a number of different DC Comics superheroes since its debut in 1940. All Green Lanterns possessed a special ring called a power ring which gives them great control over the physical world as long as the wielder has sufficient willpower. While the first Green Lantern ring was magically powered, the rings worn by all subsequent Green Lanterns were the creations of the Guardians of the Universe who granted such rings to worthy candidates across the universe. These individuals made up the intergalactic police force known as the Green Lantern Corps. The Green Lantern was the first DC superhero to use his powers selfishly and he was the first DC superhero with a family. In the last twenty years, DC has placed different individuals in the role of Green Lantern, most prominently John Stewart, Guy Gardner, and Kyle Rayner. Green Lantern is part of the all-star group the Justice League and was featured in the Justice League Unlimited animated series.
